The Earliest Goddesses of Egypt

Isis, the devoted sister-wife of Osiris, and nurturing, protective mother of Horus, achieved in the late antiquity an unrivaled position as a great mother goddess of Egypt.

She is frequently mentioned in the Pyramid  Texts dating to the fifth and sixth  dynasties (2465-2150 BC).

These texts, among the earliest records of Egyptian religion, indicate that the Isis was one of Egypt’s earliest goddesses.
